Fortnite: Battle Royale, like other games in the Battle Royale genre have large diverse maps filled with areas of varying terrain and structures. Epic Games has been working tirelessly to constantly develop the map and change, update, and add areas to create the best possible gaming experience. One quirky stylistic choice they made was to create alliterated names for each of the major areas. This gives the areas a personality of their own and helps players remember the names. Tilted Towers, for example, is one of the most popular areas on the map. Another is Salty Springs, located in a prime area lush with trees to farm, and enough loot to adequately equip a four person squad.

Tilted Towers vs. Salty Springs (Fortnite: Battle Royale)

Today, we will take two of the most popular drop zones in the map and pit them against each other. We aim to define the positive and negative aspects of each and ultimately decide which is the superior landing area. We will judge each area on the following criteria:

  1. Loot
  2. Materials
  3. Strategic Location
  4. Action

Strategic Location refers to the accessibility or maneuverability of the area, as well as ease of access to potential next bubbles. Do you have an advantageous high ground position or are you sitting ducks at the bottom of Dusty Divot?

Action refers to the amount of battle engagements the player can expect landing at the area. Some people only go for high-elimination games and want to land in the heat of it every time. Yet others prefer just 1 or 2 warm-up engagements at the start of the match.

So without further adieu, what’s your preferred drop zone?

Tilted Towers or Salty Springs
